7/30/2026 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Class 24
Teacher: Allie
Partner: Don
From side guard bottom position
- The top person has under hook and a hand around the head. Bump them using your arms and legs.
- Post the frame with the left hand on their shoulder and push them with the right hand on their hip or bicep.
- Get the left knee on their chest or mid section, find the sweet spot so they cant go over or around it.
- Hands on their left shoulder and left bicep
- Push and make space
- Bring the right foot out of half guard onto their hip and push away and escape or bring it around to a closed guard position.
We added variation from the knee on mid section part:
- Put my left leg over their right leg and hold it there
- Get the knee up and frames
- Shoot to their belly with left ear and grab the leg or bump their butt forward offsetting
them.
More variation:
- Clamp my shin and foot on their right leg when I am bottom on half guard
- Get the knee up with frame
- Put left foot between their legs and under hook both of their arms
- Bring right foot up to their thigh , now both feet are in position
- Push them away and lean head forward over my hips
At the end we did one top one bottom for 5 minutes and switched roles for another 5 minutes, 60% power on bottom and 40% from top.
I had issues bumping my teammate Don, he has a very strong upper body. I tried to get my left hand to his neck/ shoulder and he ended up pulling up and trying to get around half guard. I clamped his leg down so he couldn’t do it and we just struggled until he got side control.
Another roll we did , I got a closed guard with the knee and frames trick.
When we switched roles, I pretty much just put weight down on him and tried to give him some trouble. One time I baseball slid to side control. His leg was trapping me in side control and if I picked my right arm up under grip then he would shoot his left arm to my neck and he would inch his way out of my control.
