My dad was driving me to the fisherman’s park at muddy run, and we met this turtle in the tunnel leading to the parking lot.
I googled the image and found out it is a Map turtle because of the contour lines on it’s body and face. At first I thought it might have been a snapping turtle, but it didn’t bite the stick I put in front of it. I don’t have much experience with snappers so I didn’t want to risk it.
I ended up picking it up by the tail end and walking it over to the grass and dropping it off to save it from being run over in the tunnel. It looks like it has damage on the front of it’s shell from a previous encounter on it’s left arm side.
