We were on the Low Grade Enola Trail from Turkey Hill Trailhead today. I forgot my riding shoes so I had to flip the pedal around to fit my foot. It was a slow ride out to the trestle at Safe Harbor. We were going 5 mph most of the time and I was in tour mode. We saw many birds, insects, and blossomed trees. We met Dale, a childhood neighbor of Dad. We saw the osprey on it’s nest. There were a few joggers who passed us on the way to the trestle. We stopped at the pavilion to eat our protein bars and get some shade. On the way back, I turned up to turbo and 11th gear to ride back at 10-15 mph. It took us about an hour to get to the bridge but only 30 minutes or so to get back to the car because of the increased speed. I felt it was pretty easy to load and unload the car today.
After the ride, and the dropping off of our trikes at home, we ate at Caruso’s in Willow Street. I had a salad, caruso’s fries (ranch, cheese, bacon, jalapenos), garlic bread and some of Dad’s meat raviolis. Dad had caesar salad, garlic bread, some of the fries, and meat raviolis.
It was a great day, the clouds covered the sun a bit which made it nice, but the sun was bearing down on us for most of the ride. We expect a shower of rain tonight.
