BJJ Classes Day 1-4

3/14/2026 Day 1

I worked out with a person I don’t remember his name(it was Kenny), and Ryan (I saw Ryan on facebook he had medals from a tourney, he’s also a teacher there). I learned kimura from guard position, you knock their hands out then you wrap a side with your arm loops under theirs, you shrimp out, put right foot over their body and left foot on their hip then grab their elbow and slide your hand back to their hand and bring left foot from under and pull them down onto ground and slide hip up towards them for the tap out.

Then there is one where you get the feet out and turn the left leg out then push up with hips

Then there is one that they block the left leg from coming through and you will grab the arm and pull it and flip them over and mount them. Justin(from Alan guitar?) was the instructor, I forgot my partner’s name(kenny).

3/16/2026 Day 2

I took a lot of time to recover between Saturday’s exercises and today’s. I must have laid in bed at least 7 hours a day(plus sleep) until now and I will probably lay down more today before I go to the gym. I have been hydrating and eating protein powder, eating food and stretching. Today is at 5 pm , and it should be Allison giving lessons. I will need my card to pay for a monthly plan today. I want to come in 3 days a week (1-2 is all I can handle right now especially with triking), this week is weird and I might need to come in on Thursday instead of the planned Wednesday.  If I see my partner from Saturday I will ask him his name again. He is brutal though , working out with him is difficult and I will need a lot of breaks today because I am very sore in spots on my body, my left hip, my arms, my calves, and my hands. A lot of things hurt.

Today, I went in and the trainer was Allison Ferrari. I had Kenny, the person who’s name I forgot, and Michael, a nice dude. Kenny and Mike were both pretty good with cardio, I was gassed at some point and needed breaks. We did a tripod ankle take down where you put your right foot on their hip and grab the ankle with your left hand and push and you want to pull yourself up with momentum. Then there is the one where you sweep the ankle out by doing the tripod then they pull back(you get pulled too) when you grab the ankle and you switch arms and sweep the other leg. A lot of pushing and pulling and not letting somebody pass my guard. I also got to try to get around their guards.

3/21/2026 day 3

I practiced with Shaun today. He is a blue belt. We did ankle sweep tripod thing again with Alli as coach. He is in very good cardio shape , probably 225 lbs or so , we did one where we bump sweeped you go up and right leg post and right arm around the mountain of their head (dont go behind head when doing it) and you push them over and hold onto arm, if you get kimura you then have to pass to side guard, right side from my pov. There was a move where we did the sickle again. He wanted me to stay tight to the holds and it would keep them from moving and try to conserve energy. We had to put the left foot behind the knee and right foot up on hip on same side we grabbed ankle(tripod) and pulled their arm and if they step back you do the sickle sweep. Shawn was good at teaching me that in realistic scenarios people are moving around and you want to control them as best as you can by pushing and pulling them to where you want them. That was pretty much the entire thing. Fall forward not backwards when on top. Pull yourself up when you do the tripod sweep. Three points of contact.

3/24/2026 day 4

Partner was Andrew, Coach was Ryan

1.Pull right arm across and right leg on hip and left leg goes out then left foot into their right elbow pit

2. Same thing then under their leg and somehow get on top of them??

3. Choke the person by taking right side of gi and go up under their left arm and grab with right hand upside down then crank left hand under chin.

4. Do 3 again and instead shrimp out and pull their left arm over and them into hole made by shrimping. Use hip to push and pull left arm in and down and pull their gi with my left hand to make choke.

5. Grab right arm and pull them bending over and right foot onto their hip and sit down . pull them down and go into omoplata and grab their waist with right hand.

Protip(andrew): breath through nose in and out both to control body and spaz less. Don’t need mouthguard all the time (sketch but ok, maybe when im not doing guillotines and if im not rolling). Also pull elbows in to body is a trick he said was like a cheatcode.
